AnnouncementsFIELD DAY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
Field Day is Thursday, May 26 and it takes many volunteers to make this fun day happen! We need your help to make sure that all the games are up and running. We also need helpers who are willing to cut and serve watermelon for our Field Day fruity feast! If you just can't make it to school that day, please consider donating a watermelon. If you have any questions, please contact Irene Glover at [email protected].Thanks for helping to make this a great day for all of our students! ROO RUN & GET MOVIN' SPRING FLING
THANK YOU to our Wyatt community for your support of our Roo Run and Spring Fling fundraiser! It was wonderful to see so many families and staff at the event, and also encouraging to see that we were able to exceed our budget goal for this event. We hope that this will allow us to provide lots of great things for our students and staff for the remainder of this year and next! We are happy to see that all of our classes have met their goal, so Wyatt PTA will be treating the students to a silly string recess and the teachers to a Rusty Taco lunch in the near future as a token of our appreciation for your efforts. Are you new to Wyatt? Not sure what PTA is all about? Check out a few questions that might help you get in the loop... What does PTA do? We support the students, staff, & families at Wyatt through innovative programs, volunteer efforts, & fundraising assistance. We pay for the assemblies, author visits, social events, & field trips that your child enjoys each year, as well as countless materials to enhance the kids' education - advanced math workbooks, fine arts & PE materials, library & classroom books, & so much more! In addition, our PTA is the ONLY source of funds for providing much-needed classroom tablets through our #techforwyatt campaign. We don't just pay for "extras", we fund items no longer paid for by the district & state that are critical to your child's educational experience! We also provide volunteers for the teachers to help prepare classroom materials, monitor lunchtime, & plan classroom parties, which allows them more time to do what they do best - TEACH! Why should I join/support PTA? By joining PTA, you become a member of the largest child advocacy group in the country. Membership dues are just $14.50 per year; your dues help fund the many school programs & educational materials highlighted above. When you: join PTA; attend PTA events; donate to #techforwyatt; contribute to our Kroger, Tom Thumb, Box Tops, and other community partnership programs; and buy spirit wear, books at our book fair, school supplies, & spring auction items, you are showing your support for a quality education for your child! What is a yearbook? Yearbooks are hard-cover color books (usually approximately 90 pages) that are designed by the PTA each year. They include lots or photos and articles the students and events from the school year. Past year's yearbooks are available for viewing in the library. During the last week of school, yearbooks are passed to all kids who have ordered one; they then pass them around to their friends and sign each other's yearbooks. It is not mandatory to purchase one, but is a fun keepsake of the school year - some families even order extras to send to relatives living far away to give them an idea of what their child's school year was like! Yearbooks are available for purchase in the online store. See more answers to your questions on the "Newcomers" page under the "Your PTA" tab above. Have a question you don't see here?
